Why am i sore after Deep Tissue massage?
The feeling of muscle soreness after a massage varies from person to person.
Some clients may experience muscle soreness after receiving a deep tissue massage. This is normal, as deep tissue massage helps your body relax stiff muscles and eliminate toxins. After 24 to 48 hours, your body will usually feel much better than before the massage. This is one of the reasons many people choose deep tissue massage.
There are a few simple and pleasant things you can do to help prevent next-day soreness:
• Drink plenty of water after a massage. Staying hydrated helps flush out the toxins released during the massage. Hydration is always beneficial, and it’s especially important before and after a session.
• Take a warm bath for 20 to 40 minutes. As your body becomes accustomed to regular massages, you’ll likely experience less soreness the next day, making the overall experience even more enjoyable.

How much should i tip?
Tipping is a personal choice, and you should only tip an amount you feel comfortable with. We suggest thinking of your massage therapist similarly to how you would think of a server in a restaurant — our therapists perform one-on-one, physically demanding work. They love what they do, and your tip is a great way to show appreciation for their service.
However, many clients ask us for guidance. You may consider the following suggested gratuities:
Suggested Gratuities:
• 60 minutes: $15–$20
• 90 minutes: $20–$30
• 120 minutes: $40–$60

How often should i receive a massage?
There are many people who incorporate massage therapy at least twice a month for optimal therapeutic relief. For those who use massage as preventative care or to manage daily stress, one massage a month is common. Weekly sessions may be desirable if you are receiving massage for injury relief or to relieve chronic tightness that is interfering with your daily life.
